Welcome back! In this blog 'Writing Process Round-table' teacher Dr. Sabatino assigned me to read three text book to analyze and make sense to provide nine quotes from authors that discuss their writing processes and three quotes from me. Below I provide the links of each text book:
This is about my exam hall story. I'm sitting in the exam hall with paper. When i got question paper i see all question i try to memories last night even i know those questions answer. Then i start writing, in middle of the writing i forget some part of the answer. In this situation i think my father quotes my father said me when you forgot something be patient, think quietly, the writing will come back. In Don Murray text Don Murray said me same quotes "Be patient, listen quietly, the writing will come. The voice of the writing will tell you what to do". [1] We have to be patient and wait, and wait, and wait. The suspense in the beginning of a writing course is agonizing for the teacher, but if we break first, if we do the prewriting for our students they will not learn the largest part of the writing process. Now i'm siting on the bed with laptop. Don Murray ask me ( Just kidding ) what are you doing? I said i'm writing assignment. today night due my assignment, he laughing and laughing and said me "Writing as a Process Not Product". [2] There are no rules, no absolutes, just alternatives. What works one time may not another. All writing is experimental. In this time i'm thinking, what i have to write? Can i write, maybe i can't write something. Paper in my front, pen in my hand but i'm thinking what i will write. In this critical moment Don Murray ask me hey what are you doing? I said i am thinking what i will write and he said "Don't look back. Yes, the draft needs fixing. But first it needs writing". [3] Writing is the act of producing a first draft. It is the fastest part of the process, and the most frightening, for it is a commitment. When you complete a draft you know how much, and how little, you know. And the writing of this first draft—rough, searching, unfinished—may take as little as one percent of the writer’s time. Then i start writing and thinking wow i almost finish my writing. As a writer oh no, am i writer? No, I'm crazy writer. When i want to write something i always spends more time. Maybe that's why Marry Karr said "Every writer I know who’s worth a damn spends way more time 'losing' than 'winning". [4] "Every writer needs two selves—the generative self and the editor self". [5] When i'm writing i'm as generative self. After finish my writing, i check my writing and some time modify writing as a editor self. I done my blog in my way but Dr. Sabatino lets me to rewrite other way. In this writing i remembering Marry karr quotes "Rewriting on the page is safer than revision in, say, painting, where you can paint past a good place and wreck a canvas. Performers can’t revise at all". [6] Don Murray also said about rewriting "Rewriting is reconsideration of subject, form, and audience. It is researching, rethinking, redesigning, rewriting—and finally, line-by-line editing, the demanding, satisfying process of making each word right". [7] I like E.L. Doctorow quotes. I feel writing as like he said. Once E.L. Doctorow said "Writing a novel is like driving a car at night. You can see only as far as your headlights, but you can make the whole trip that way". [8] You don't have to see where you're going, you don't have to see your destination or everything you will pass along the way. You just have to see two or three feet ahead of you. This is right up there with the best advice on writing, or life, I have ever heard. In my writing when i wrote my assignment i read out by my friend also Anne Lamott always show his work with other. She quotes "I always show my work to one of two people before sending a copy to my editor or agent. I feel more secure and connected this way, and these two people get a lot of good work out of me". [9] If you feel or engaged in something you can write about this that's why i said "You wrote something it means you feel something". [10] When i want to write something that i don't know what i will write i just look around me and i picked up one object and writing about the object. that's why i said "Look around you to write something whatever you want". [11] I believe writing is refreshment because if you want to share something with other but you can't share with other. That time you can share with paper by writing. You got refresh that's why i said "Writing is an art that help me to express my feeling".
