Welcome back! In this vlog, I did make a video for English Composition I class that reflect my midterm works. To making this video I have to watch the Reflective Writing video also have to read the Genres in Academic Writing: Reflection reading. This video has been talk about reflective writing. Reflective writing is a process of putting into writing your reflective thinking. This is three-stage process looking back and analyzing and projecting into the future without the third stage it could be pointless. Point to be noted reflective writing should have a short bouts of description followed by a lot of reflection. Reflective writing is just to where to formalize and encourage such reflective thinking.

ENG 100
Welcome back! In this blog I like to share our English Composition I class held on Tuesday on 02/07/19. In our class we are separated three group namely The Wanderer's, Late Expectations and Flower Power/ Discerning Ummm. Each groups we have to engaged a reading My Name is Margaret (Maya Angelou). This reading about young girl, her name Margaret. But her boss Mrs. Cullinaa call her Mary, Margaret angry for call her by rename. She broken glass and dishes. We have to draw this scene. This process one type of composing called Visual modal. Here I shared some photo that reflected our works. I like to thanks Dr. Mangini for encourage us a wonderful session. It's my pleasures being student of Dr. Mangini's class. Welcome back! In this blog post I have to answer some questions about my first draft of my memoir. To answering I had to watch three videos from American musical fantasy film 'The Wizard of Oz', these videos Wizard of Oz: If I Only Had The Brain, Heart, Nerve , Wizard of Oz: Meeting the Wizard, Wizard of Oz: You've Always Had the Power showed a theme different person had different characters (heart, brain, and nerve), they can do something by these characters.
From the theme, make sense me to provide how narrative allow me to travel into my brain and explore my heart about the event then and now. Also how narrative meet the nerve (high-stakes) element of meaningful storytelling and how enable me to re-examine the power I have in my life story and What shapes our sense of identity: Life events or the stories we tell ourselves about life events? My memoir travel into my brain because I had to think and go back from now to past for remembering every second about that day. My memoir explore my heart because the scene I composed from a very emotional and painful time of my life. It was highest fear of my life that I'm still suffering. My memoir meet the nerve (high-stakes) element of meaningful storytelling because it is very hard to share with other. To sharing I had to go back to that day. It was very painful because I feel same as I felt then. I think memoir help us to remember our past life, how was that time and what was our react. I believe that the stories we tell ourselves shape about our lives shape our identity. Welcome back! By this blog post I have to share emotional scene from Hills Like White Elephants (Ernest Hemingway) reading and an emotional from my life for my English Composition I class. In this reading, I read about girl she look like white elephant it means she (40 weeks) pregnant girl. Her pregnancy as like unwanted gift. One day she drinking in the bar with a man. They talking each other. "Its really an awfully simple operation, jig," the man said. "It's not really an operation at all." The girl did not say anything. Again man said " I'll go with you and I'll stay with you all the time. They just let the air in and then it's all perfectly natural." The girl ask "Then what will we do afterward?" He said "We'll be fine afterward. Just like we ware before." Are you know what about they are taking? They are taking about abortion. Can you imagine? The man want to abortion, he don't want baby. The girl said "And you think then we'll be all right and happy." He said "I know we will. You don't have to be afraid, I've known lots of people that have done it." She said "So have i, and afterward they were all happy." The man said "Well, if you don't want to you don't have to. I wouldn't have you do it if you didn't want to. But i know it's perfectly simple." The man force the girl to do it. Again he ask" And you really want to?" The girl said "I think it's the best thing to do. But I don't want you to do it if you don't really want to." "And if i do it you'll be happy and things will be like they were and you'll love me?" He said "I love you now. You know I love you." She said "I know. But if i do it, it will be nice again if I say things are like white elephants, and you'll like it?" He said "I'll love it. I love it now but I just can't think about it. You know I get when I worry." She said "If i do it you won't ever worry?" He said "I won't worry about that because it's perfectly simple." She said "Than I'll do it.Because I don't care about me." He said "What do you mean?" She said "I don't care about me." He said "Well, I care about you." She said "Oh, yes. But I don't care about me. And I'll do it and then everything will be fine." Finally she did abortion her white hills. After that the man ask her "Do you feel better?" Girl said "I feel fine, there nothing wrong with me. I feel fine." Last Day With My Girlfriend Now 12:30 am I’m at the building roof I am waiting for my girlfriend. In my village outside weather cold (12-15 c). Now midnight I can't see anything for darkness approximately 20 min later she come. Her name is Nishi. When she come I saw she sad I asked her "What happened." She silent I asked again "What happened say something." She silent, few minute later she said "You can forget me." I said "Why?" "are you ok?" "what happened tell me?" She crying and said my parents want I should marry with their choose guy, also they fixed my marriage date. After listen this I’m going to out of my mind. You don't know my family? My parents don't accept us at this time. Because my culture don't accept love marriage. You known everything about my family and culture. She again start crying and hit me. She said "Why all happened with me?" I can't say something, what I have to say in this situation I don't know. I just said I love you. After that she hug me very tightly and said love you too and crying. Long time she hug me and last she kiss my lips. She said "Now I have to go." But boss Mrs. Cullinaa call her Mary, Margaret angry for call her by other name. Now i'm writing last day with my girlfriend. 04/09/2015 Now 12:30 am I’m at the building roof I am waiting for my girlfriend. In my village outside weather cold (12-15 c). She leave me and she going, I'm just looking her pathway. I can't do anything because my culture don't accept us at this time.
Welcome back! In this blog 'Writing Process Round-table' teacher Dr. Sabatino assigned me to read three text book to analyze and make sense to provide nine quotes from authors that discuss their writing processes and three quotes from me. Below I provide the links of each text book:
This is about my exam hall story. I'm sitting in the exam hall with paper. When i got question paper i see all question i try to memories last night even i know those questions answer. Then i start writing, in middle of the writing i forget some part of the answer. In this situation i think my father quotes my father said me when you forgot something be patient, think quietly, the writing will come back. In Don Murray text Don Murray said me same quotes "Be patient, listen quietly, the writing will come. The voice of the writing will tell you what to do". [1] We have to be patient and wait, and wait, and wait. The suspense in the beginning of a writing course is agonizing for the teacher, but if we break first, if we do the prewriting for our students they will not learn the largest part of the writing process. Now i'm siting on the bed with laptop. Don Murray ask me ( Just kidding ) what are you doing? I said i'm writing assignment. today night due my assignment, he laughing and laughing and said me "Writing as a Process Not Product". [2] There are no rules, no absolutes, just alternatives. What works one time may not another. All writing is experimental. In this time i'm thinking, what i have to write? Can i write, maybe i can't write something. Paper in my front, pen in my hand but i'm thinking what i will write. In this critical moment Don Murray ask me hey what are you doing? I said i am thinking what i will write and he said "Don't look back. Yes, the draft needs fixing. But first it needs writing". [3] Writing is the act of producing a first draft. It is the fastest part of the process, and the most frightening, for it is a commitment. When you complete a draft you know how much, and how little, you know. And the writing of this first draft—rough, searching, unfinished—may take as little as one percent of the writer’s time. Then i start writing and thinking wow i almost finish my writing. As a writer oh no, am i writer? No, I'm crazy writer. When i want to write something i always spends more time. Maybe that's why Marry Karr said "Every writer I know who’s worth a damn spends way more time 'losing' than 'winning". [4] "Every writer needs two selves—the generative self and the editor self". [5] When i'm writing i'm as generative self. After finish my writing, i check my writing and some time modify writing as a editor self. I done my blog in my way but Dr. Sabatino lets me to rewrite other way. In this writing i remembering Marry karr quotes "Rewriting on the page is safer than revision in, say, painting, where you can paint past a good place and wreck a canvas. Performers can’t revise at all". [6] Don Murray also said about rewriting "Rewriting is reconsideration of subject, form, and audience. It is researching, rethinking, redesigning, rewriting—and finally, line-by-line editing, the demanding, satisfying process of making each word right". [7] I like E.L. Doctorow quotes. I feel writing as like he said. Once E.L. Doctorow said "Writing a novel is like driving a car at night. You can see only as far as your headlights, but you can make the whole trip that way". [8] You don't have to see where you're going, you don't have to see your destination or everything you will pass along the way. You just have to see two or three feet ahead of you. This is right up there with the best advice on writing, or life, I have ever heard. In my writing when i wrote my assignment i read out by my friend also Anne Lamott always show his work with other. She quotes "I always show my work to one of two people before sending a copy to my editor or agent. I feel more secure and connected this way, and these two people get a lot of good work out of me". [9] If you feel or engaged in something you can write about this that's why i said "You wrote something it means you feel something". [10] When i want to write something that i don't know what i will write i just look around me and i picked up one object and writing about the object. that's why i said "Look around you to write something whatever you want". [11] I believe writing is refreshment because if you want to share something with other but you can't share with other. That time you can share with paper by writing. You got refresh that's why i said "Writing is an art that help me to express my feeling".
